Introduction

Ravenblack's Vampires game got me hooked since the middle of last year 2005. A friend of mine passed on the link to me through his Yahoo! Messenger status (that has always been a fun way to broadcast interesting links to friends). What caught me was the stupidly simple text-based interface & its few command set. I love simple text-based games with simple interfaces devoid of those fancy GUI-clutter. In the olden days, we were fans of BBS games like BRE (Barren Realms Elite), LoRD (Legend of the Red Dragon), etc. Of course, we had share of fun for MUDs.

The game is turn-based which means I didn't have to spend a whole lot of playing time while on my day job. I did manage to progress in the game by just alloting 5-10 minute each day. Now, I'm an omnipotent Blood Deity. Well, almost.

There are various reasons why I started this:

• Have a one-stop site to point newbie vampires who keep on asking us on the Who?, What?, Where?, How?, and Why? Not that we don't want to help newbies, but it's just a lot more productive to lead them here.

• Create a dynamic repository of shared knowledge. Currently, there are hundreds of websites providing how-tos, tips, quest assistance, etc. We hope we can grow the information through this wiki.

• Start a guide, glossary, definition of terms, how-to page, encyclopedia, what-have-you.

• Our way of giving back to the wonderful community of vampires I have come to know which have become clanmates and some enemies *grin*.

As they say, "A wiki is always a 'work in progress'." Feel free to review, edit, and update it. And to keep the 'peace and order' here are a few WikiRules to live by.
